Motivation techniques revealed – How to Achieve Success

Motivation techniques revealed!

How to Achieve Success

Motivation is key to achieve success. Good habits and maintaining them on a daily basis is extremely tough because it takes work. If you can’t find the motivation to do so, well, success won’t be achieved. Here are two motivation techniques that you can apply every single day – which prepares you to achieve success.

1. Make an appointment with your daily habit!
2. If you don’t “have to do something”, do it anyway!

success_failure_xroads_sxcThis all comes back to creating a daily task list. Task lists are essential in a goal setting program. Accomplish small tasks, and it leads to the fulfillment of bigger tasks! This is called – daily habits. These are good habits… and habits that need to be worked on. Sometimes your mind starts to wander – it tricks you into believing: procrastination, and the belief that you ‘need a break’ from being ‘good’ is more important than success. The daily task list and routine gets boring and you fall off track. Well, its time to do something different, but not so different that you have to change your daily routine.

1. Make an appointment with your daily habit!

Lets take the “Create Your Mind’s Daily Dozen”: .

THE CREATE YOUR MIND’S DAILY DOZEN PLUS ONE

1. STAY ON TRACK (100% PRODUCTIVITY)
Ask yourself “am I being 100% productive doing what I’m doing RIGHT NOW?”

2. DAILY LIST (5) THEN EAT THE FROG!
Look at your 5 tasks and do the toughest/most challenging one first!

3. ACCOUNTABILITY CHECK (TAG TEAM)
Find an accountability partner and check in daily or weekly

4. COMPARE YOURSELF TO YOU
Don’t compare yourself to those above or those below or those across from you – it doesn’t matter!

5. ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
Be thankful!!!

6. MAXIMIZE ASSETS (YOU, INC)
List your strengths and weaknesses! Maximize assets and work on making your liabilities better!

7. CLEAN OUT DIRTY WATER (READ/LISTEN)
Read 15 minutes a day or 10 pages a day and listen to educational CDs in your car every single time you drive!

8. BRAINSTORM (20 IN 5)
Every morning – write 20 ideas in 5 minutes – don’t edit yourself, just write!

9. COUNSEL YOUR HIGHER POWER
Pray!

10. THE WORRY BUSTER
What is the worst thing that can happen? Accept it. Work to never let it happen!

11. BE A GOOD RECEIVER
Say THANK YOU and nothing else! (SMILE)

12. ASK FOR HELP
Check your ego at the door and ask someone for help!

13. (BONUS) THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT
What is in your thoughts when you are sitting there doing a mindless activity? Like waiting in line, in the bathroom, watching TV, pondering life…

Let’s say you should be doing #8. Brainstorm (20 in 5), but haven’t done it in a couple of days. Well, schedule it into your calendar sometime during the day and be on time! Make it a task!

If your routine calls for lunch at noon, set your “20 in 5” appointment right after lunch – at 1:00. Go to the coffee shop, the book store, the local frozen yogurt shop, and make an appointment with your “20 in 5” and achieve your list. Even if you eat at your desk, put your sandwich down and spend 5 minutes on your 20 ideas! Yes, it only takes 5 minutes, but it’s a 5 minute appointment you can’t miss. Make no excuse, fulfill your commitment in your appointment book – get there early – and sit down, relax, and get it done.

This is simple and different and one thing’s for sure – you got it done!

2. If you don’t “have to do something”, do it anyway!

In our above example, you don’t have to do “20 in 5” every single day. I recommended that you do – but here’s the thing: even if you don’t do “20 in 5” every single morning because you feel you don’t have to – do it anyway! Everyday!

Another ‘you don’t have to’ moment usually happens on the weekends!

Here’s what a reader said about #2…

On Sunday I wasn’t going to get up at my normal 7AM wake up time to work. I had decided to take the day off anyway – no work – so why would I have to get up at 7AM anyway right?

Well, even though I didn’t have to get out of bed at 7AM, I did it anyway.

Yep, I got up, walked the dogs, surfed the net, ate some breakfast… I didn’t have to wake up at 7AM – but I did it anyway!

I got more done waking up at 7AM, even if it was ‘non-productive’ so-to-speak, but I have made it a good habit to not sleep in, it was hard to sleep in!

The ‘non-productive’ actions I took actually influenced thoughts and ideas and I began writing a list… All because I got  up.!

This takes time and effort. Slowly but surely these good habits become the life and blood of the motivational techniques you’ll need to succeed in anything and everything you do.

If you follow the “CYM Daily Dozen”, and you start getting deeper and deeper into goal setting programs (through CYM or another program), you’ll find that based on the “CYM Daily Dozen”, you’ll be prepared to face new (yet similar) tasks that lead to success!

These motivational techniques, as simple and unimportant as they may seem, are an integral part of success, self-improvement and yes, motivation. They go together – you don’t have to make an appointment with your habit, but… do it anyway!
