Ever since I purchased my Nook handheld eBook reader, I’ve always been on the look out for a great Nook cover. I settled with the Bleecker Cover in Asphalt just to protect my investment, but it wasn’t ‘enough’ to show off my Nook. It’s a simple cover similar to an Author’s Journal Cover. But it didn’t really have anything ‘going on’ so-to-speak.
But finally, I found what I was looking for!
The Perfect Nook eBook reader cover!
Here was my dilemma: I love to read after dark. I especially like to read when the lights are off, in bed, and with headphones in my ear and a little light. This makes reading with the Nook perfect – headphones to listen to music, great eInk for easy reading, and with a little book light attached, everything is pretty good – but not perfect.
Everywhere I went I’d carry that tiny little book light. And I lost it a couple of times. It was inconvenient.
Finally, my search was over. I was walking out of Barnes & Noble and the book seller was demonstrating a new book cover for the Nook eBook reader! To my amazement, it was exactly what I was looking for!
The case was sturdy, it was ‘sleek’, it was cool, and best of all, there was a book light built into the cover already! I thought to myself, ‘of course they had to think about something like this’.
I couldn’t believe that they actually had what I was thinking they should have! And sure enough, there it was – wow.
The surface is soft and smooth, but the only drawback is that it does NOT protect the back of the Nook eReader. Folding the cover back allows you to have a comfortable hold on the Nook as well. The design is top notch in my opinion. It clips on conveniently and securely, and the light is run off of 2 AAA batteries!
Some of the reviews weren’t too fond of the glare you get from the light. But with the right positioning, it lights up the reading surface well and is not a distraction for me.
The LED light is a fully adjustable arm, it is energy efficient, consumes less power, generates little to no heat, and never require replacing!
This is how it looks with the light on:

This, by far, is the best designed Nook eBook cover in my opinion! If you are a Nook owner and want to protect your investment and read after dark, this is the cover for you!
Let me know what you think!

I seldom come across an ebook cover that comes with an LED light… must feel cozy using that while reading in the dark

Cindy,
It sure does! I love my Nook eBook reader and am so glad I didn’t buy an iPad to replace it.
That being said, it doesn’t mean I won’t buy an ipad in the future! LOL
Hey – I love your blog and your work! You’ve got great talent!!!!!!!!

I asked about the lighted covers at B&N after I bought my Nook. The demonstrator/salesman actually talked me out of it. Said they’d had returns and troubles. Also said you should never read in the dark. I wasn’t too convinced, being an avid reader who also likes to cozy up to a good book with my book light. But he convinced me…book lights bounce off the page into your eyes. Especially on eReaders like the Nook. Light should wash across the page. So I ended up with a David Spade cover that was 60% off, and very happy with it.
@Jennifer,
Of course you shouldn’t read in the dark. But I’ve done it all my life and still have 20/20 vision. I love reading in the dark. It puts me in this mood of solitude.
As for the B&N salesperson, his manager probably would be upset that he wasn’t selling product. That, to me, is just stupid.
Positioned just right, the light washes over my Nook just right. Sometimes I adjust it, but for the most part, its a perfect book light for the nook.
I had a small book light attached before, but carrying it around wasn’t very fun. So this new book cover handles that situation perfectly.
I still recommend it!
