What are you reading on your Nook handheld eBook reader?

I love to buy new books to read for my Nook handheld eBook reader. New fiction, new business, new everything.  But I am feeling the need of some classics that I read as a young adult. So today I purchased four of my all time favorite books: Tolkein’s, “The Hobbit”, “The Fellowship of the Ring”, “The Two Towers”, and “Return of the King”.

Which leads me to question:

What are you reading on your Nook handheld eBook reader?

I filled my Nook handheld with pretty good books. Some fiction, mostly self-improvement and business books. Every once in a while I’ll pick up a book from my bookshelf and reread it. Maybe every 10 years or so I read “The Hobbit” because its my favorite of the four books. So instead of lugging around my awesome gold leaf collector’s series in a slip case hard back novel, I figure I’ll have it on my Nook and sit down for some real pleasure reading.

Believe me – pleasure reading comes for me oh too seldom. But its a good way to escape – and what a better way to escape than to escape to the rolling green hills of the Shire?!

If you never read “The Hobbit” you are missing out. The first paragraph always-always draws me in! Here’s an excerpt:

IN A HOLE IN THE GROUND there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.

How can this not draw you in?

Instead of reading the dribble that is “The Twilight” series, get back to where the roots are in Fantasy and read Tolkein’s literary masterpieces!
