In fact, the difference in the position in the SERP and PageRank could be the difference of a few page views to thousands of unique visitors every day, week or month!  This could also relate to a few pennies, a few dollars, or thousands of dollars in passive income every month!

If you decide to take on the SEO process, here are three tips on how to identify strong keywords for your blog or website.

1. Make a list of words specific to your blog/website or niche
2. Use the free online tools to expand your list
3. Begin by writing copy a specific keyword per page/entry/article/post

These are basic steps in the SEO process to increase Google PageRank. Omiting these tips from  your SEO process while expecting a lot of visitors wishful. Make this part of your daily, weekly, and monthly SEO strategy. If you can find hundreds of keywords, you can keep your blog or website’s content searchable and current.

Lets go through each tip a little bit more in brief.

1. Make a list of words specific to your blog/website or niche

Jot down all the keywords and possible search phrases that come to mind – specific to your website/blog or niche. Use synonyms to common words as well as common misspellings of a specific word. Think about what people will enter into Google’s Search Engine in order to find what they are looking for.

Allow each word you write down lead to another keyword or search phrase. These are the words that will point to your website in an organic search process.

2. Use the free online tools to expand your list

Google’s AdWords Keywords tool is the number one tool on the Internet to use when doing a keyword analysis – and it is free. Currently, there is an expanded tool in beta that you can also play around with. By using this tool, you can expand your current list of keywords to find more that pertain to your site.

You can also enter your website url and search the keywords that the analytics discovers for you. After gathering words and phrases, continue to expand or omit words from your list.

Another free tool is Word Tracker’s Keyword Suggestion tool.  The results engine is based on different databases but can provide insight on what keywords on your list are searched and how often they are searched. Both the Google AdWords Keywords tool and Word Tracker’s Keyword Suggestion tool will help you start writing copy for your website immediately.

3. Begin by writing copy a specific keyword per page/entry/article/post

Once you have a list of strong, searchable, keywords, you can start to begin  content that is Search Engine Optimized. Always have the keyword or phrase in the page title, as the subject, in the heading, and used naturally within the content of your copy.

The ‘secret’ is to use your keywords and phrases naturally – Google’s algorithm is ‘smart’, and can determine if you are flooding your content with irrelevant keywords to manipulate your position on the SERP and attempt to improve your Google PageRank. Do not try to influence organic SEO, instead, write copy that will be found naturally through organic SEO.

It is important to know your niche and to know what type of content people will search for. By taking on the SEO process to increase Google PageRank, you also need to be an expert on the subject matter you are presenting. People will not return if they search your site, visit it, and there isn’t any relevant information based on their inquiry.

Building a great keyword list and improving it is the first thing you need to do in the SEO process to improve Google PageRank. Use these words to write better SEO copy in order to target organic searches. The end result, more traffic to your blog or website and hopefully, more conversions as far as sales or email collection.
